  15. Shareware is an exciting new marketing method which allows you to try top
  16. quality software before you pay the author. With shareware, you cannot
  17. be disappointed spending money for a program that's not right for you.
  18. The small fee you pay for your shareware copy of the program covers only
  19. the duplication and distribution costs, and permits you to evaluate the
  20. program.

  25. If you continue to use the program after a reasonable evaluation period,
  26. (42 days) you are required to send the registration fee to Fugue Software
  27. (or one of our agents). The addresses of agents are listed in the file
  28. REGIST.TXT

  30. Registration entitles you to a printed manual, the latest version of
  31. the software, a periodical newsletter, and technical support. Please
  32. copy the file ORDER.FRM to your printer, fill it it, and send it off. If your
  33. country has a local agent, then the file ORDER.FRM will have the address of
  34. the agent, and prices will be in your local currency.

  43. About The Program
  44. =================

  46. 1.  This is a heavy duty Word Processing Program intended for a wide
  47.     variety of word processing and editing tasks. As installed, it is
  48.     ideal for the touch typist - there is no need to take your hands
  49.     off the home row to activate any of the functions.
  50.  
  51. 2.  The novice should have no difficulty in using the program - the
  52.     program is easy to learn, since it comes with context sensitive
  53.     help available at the press of the F1 key. There is also a
  54.     tutorial on the program disk, for novice users to try out the
  55.     various functions.

  57. 3.  The program comes supplied with industry standard Pull Down Menus
  58.     to make learning it even easier. The point and select usage means
  59.     that touch typists do not need to lift their hands from the home
  60.     row. In addition, each command on the pull down menu can
  61.     optionally display the command sequence needed to activate it, so
  62.     novices can learn the commands. The pull down menu is activated by
  63.     the F10 key.

  65. 4.  The keyboard commands are fully configurable from an installation
  66.     program. Many of the options are also configurable from inside the
  67.     program. As supplied, it comes installed with a WordstarTM
  68.     compatible interface, which is the industry standard for editor
  69.     programs. Experienced users do not need to use the pull down
  70.     menus, since all functions of the menu are also available at the
  71.     press of one or two keys.

  73. 5.  The word processor document files are ASCII text files, which
  74.     means that there are no funny embedded characters (unless you use
  75.     the print control sequences) and no hi order bits set on. The
  76.     files are WordstarTM compatible, which means that you can load
  77.     them into any word processor that reads Wordstar files. Apart from
  78.     printer control strings, all formatting commands are by use of dot
  79.     commands (. in column one) or embedded functions ({. }) in the
  80.     text body.

  82. 6.  There are up to 8 editing windows, which can look at different
  83.     files or the same file. These files can be loaded from the
  84.     parameter line. Any window can be zoomed to occupy the entire
  85.     screen.

  87. 7.  Printer support includes laser printers. It is easy to customise
  88.     the printer drivers, and different ones can be selected from a
  89.     pick list at print time. Printing also occurs in background,
  90.     letting you go on with other word processing tasks.

  92. 8.  The program comes with a 100,000 word dictionary and an update
  93.     program that will add or delete words from the dictionary. In
  94.     addition to the main dictionary, you can set up auxiliary
  95.     dictionaries in each directory, containing words specific to
  96.     particular projects. Main dictionaries are available in American,
  97.     Australian and British versions.

  99. 9.  The program can generate indexes and tables of contents. Both
  100.     these files can be customised during the generation by use of
  101.     options embedded in the text. In addition, paragraphs can be
  102.     numbered automatically in several formats.

  104. 10. The program comes with macro facilities, the ability to record
  105.     keystrokes, and a number of macro files for additional
  106.     flexibility. In addition, macros can be invoked at program start
  107.     up from the parameter line.

  109. 11. Printing, index and table of contents generation can include other
  110.     files, which can in turn include other files, up to 5 levels of
  111.     nesting. This means that even the biggest novel or research paper
  112.     can be easily managed.

  114. 12. Automatic reformatting of text is available. This can be turned ON
  115.     and OFF as required. In addition automatic hyphenation is
  116.     available.

  118. 13. Tables are supported, as is word wrap and justification of each
  119.     table column independently. Column mode blocks can be defined and
  120.     copied, moved or deleted.

  122. 14. Comprehensive monitor support - MONO, CGA, EGA or VGA or HERCULES.

  124. 15. DOS shell is supported to permit use of all DOS commands from
  125.     within the program. Can also free up memory to run large programs.

  127. 16. A pop up calculator with 16 functions is included. The calculation
  128.     result can be pasted into your text.

  130. 17. The program comes with support for box and line drawing, with
  131.     these characters available at the press of a key. Load the macro
  132.     files SINGLE.MAC for single lines and DOUBLE.MAC for double lines.
  133.     Additional macro files contain European and Greek characters.

  135. 18. Optional on screen display of fonts is also available. You can
  136.     edit text with this mode operating (unlike wordstar).

  138. 19. Printing can have multiple headers and footers, and these can
  139.     include functions such as current date or time.

  141. 20. Embedded print functions are supported in both headers / footers
  142.     and within the text body. Print functions can be evaluated on
  143.     screen, and include date and time, file name, revision marking and
  144.     so on.

  146. 21. Comprehensive text formatting is available and can be stored in
  147.     the text as ruler lines. There is no limit on the number of ruler
  148.     lines you can have. There is even a file of standard ruler lines
  149.     that can be automatically included into your text. You can add
  150.     other lines to this file should you so desire.

  163.     are displayed when files are listed, and can be altered at the
  164.     press of a key. In addition, a utility (FI) is supplied to display
  165.     and change file descriptions from the dos prompt. It acts like a
  166.     replacement of the DOS DIR command.

  168. 26. Support for foot notes and end notes. Notes can span multiple
  169.     include files.

  171. 27. Snaking columns of text supported. These newspaper style columns
  172.     (not to be confused with tables) have text wrapping to the next
  173.     column when the bottom of the current one is reached.
